Parks And Gardens Of Washington

American cities are considered to be the most well developed cities where everything has been planned by man like buildings, schools offices residential areas, parks, gardens and even small water bodies like small lakes. These all have been accomplished by doing dedicated hard work and with an ambition to make the country the top country in the world. Americans have somewhat succeeded in doing this as they have made some remarkably beautiful things and have managed to remain a green nation by keeping the balance of nature in the form of beautiful parks and gardens in their cities.

Washington one of them most important city of the world is also known for some of it very old man made parks and gardens and even forest places. These all parks and gardens have been made for a single reason to make the city look beautiful.

All these parks and gardens are fulfilling the needs of citizens for their outdoor activities and also these green parks and gardens are helping to keep the environment clean for pollution. Every park in Washington has something unique and special for the people who are coming. This uniqueness can be of the plants that are present there or can be the flowers or the water bodies in the park that attracts people.

The city is divided into segments and each segment of city has some very good open space in the form of parks or gardens. People from every age like to come here and do whatever they want. People come here and exercise or jog or they might do cycling on the track. Many different sports are also played in parks like football, basket ball and many more. Many of the parks in Washington are in the memory of any incident or for a person who had done something very important. The common thing in all these parks is that they have huge fountains with large ponds and the sparkling water from these fountains looks very attractive to the people who come.

Talking about the Bartholdi Park which is one of the oldest and very gorgeous parks of Washington is in the memory of a very important personality known as Frederic Auguste. This man is famous for his exclusive sculptor designs in his times. He also has the credit with him for giving the design of one of the biggest landmarks of the worlds that are thought to be the representatives for there country. The statue of liberty is the creation of Frederic Auguste. Many parks near the natural water bodies like river and sea have been developed with very exclusive atmosphere as being near the water. Many other old forts have also been turned into parks which are the only of their type in the whole world like the Fort Reno Park and Fort Dupont Park. These are famous for their landscapes and the old buildings present in them. These parks remind of the past centuries when the city boundaries were inside these forts and were thought to be very secure. Now these large forts are beautiful parks and are a small part of the huge city.

Parks And Gardens Of Phoenix

Modern cities are termed as multi story buildings that can be seen from miles away and long freeways and highways that cover the city from every side. These buildings and other facilities have hid the natural beauty of the place. It is important to keep the ecosystem balanced and it can be dangerous to destroy the beauty. Phoenix has been able to retain its natural beauty by leaving parks and gardens all over city. These parks and gardens are very helpful in cleaning the environment of the city and also enhance the beauty of the city. They also provide healthy spots for people who like to walk or exercise in parks and gardens. Like every developed city phoenix has also a huge collection of parks and gardens that make the city more beautiful, attractive and more clean than any other industrial city. These gardens and parks help the people to keep healthy and fresh.

The open spaces add beauty.

Parks and gardens are also important to slow down the urbanization and the undirected increase. This destroys the natural landscape and beauty of the city and increases the threat of pollution. The total population brings it to sixth number in the state but the people living in a square mile are very less and most of the area is not urbanized and is just desert. The location of the city is like that the river run along the city providing fresh supply to the plantation. It also helps the natural vegetation to grow and also keeps the climate cool enough to keep the plants fresh. Starting with some of the biggest parks in phoenix the Encanto Park that is situated in the northwest of the downtown. It is the main park of the city covering a large area. It also includes many golf courses that is an exotic one. The phoenix zoo is also the part of Encanto Park. The Regional Park resides in the northwest of the city and is also worth seeing. It includes jogging track, beautiful lake and many more attractions for the citizens.

The municipal park that is also the main and one of the biggest park that almost covers a huge area of about 16500 acres consisting of different type of trees and other desert plantation. It presents a view of wild desert plants along with the delicate and flowering plants. This combination makes this park an awesome place to visit and camp with the family and friend. Parks have been developed since the old times to maintain the natural state of the city as it is a little desert type.Along with the green gardens and parks some water parks are also developed for the citizens. These water parks provide the residents with a lot of fun and amusement in the hot weather. Some most famous water parks are Lake pleasant Regional Park, Tempe Town Lake. These all have the world class facilities and the people here love to go there. Many other people also come here to enjoy their holidays.

Chiang Mai has a reputation as a developing vibrant city, and this is one of the reasons that it is such a popular destination, but what makes it so special is the way the urban side of the city blends with the natural beauty and the area’s green spaces do not feel encroached upon. The parks in Chiang Mai are environmental wonders – from the artistry and serenity of the city’s landscaped areas to the rugged wilderness of the national parks and reserves.

With this in mind, Chiang Mai contains a large number of parks to help visitors and local residents relax and escape the hectic nature of city life. While all these parks share a sense of tranquility, design and function, they each have an additional element that makes them stand out as places to visit, from catering to the active to photo opportunities and pure escapism.

Buak Hat park is a popular attraction for anyone who spends an afternoon there because it is such as great picnic spot and the range of botanical displays and water-features mean that you can easily spend hours marveling at the sights as you enjoy a stroll in the sun. Rama IX Park also boosts great features; however it is more highly regarded as a place for fitness lovers because it contains a center with a football pitch and great routes for jogging. Finally, no piece on the parks in Chiang Mai would be complete without a mention of Sri Lanna. Here visitors can immerse themselves in the natural beauty and enjoy the waterfalls and reservoir, and while they may feel removed from the city, they have the convenience of dining establishments and accommodation close by.

Of course it is not just about the grand landscapes and designs that can be found in the heart of the city there are also a number of wildlife reserves and national parks in Chiang Mai that can provide locals and tourists alike with incredible experiences. The Nam Dand National Park is renowned for its appeal to tourists thanks to its 1,247 square kilometers of natural landscape and its array of wildlife. Here, a vast number of species are conserved and able to live freely in stunning habitats, and guests have the chance for unique encounters. The park can be accessed at any time of year, however it is recommended that visitors go between January and March for the best experience and sightings.

One animal that high on the must-see list of tourists visiting the region is the elephant. These beautiful creatures are loved the world over and therefore the chance to see one up close is something many visitors take advantage of. The best place to achieve this is at the Elephant Nature Park. This reserve comes highly recommended because you can learn about the animals and conservation efforts as you enjoy intimate encounters with the animals, either through feeding or bathing them.

When it comes to the natural, tranquil side of Chiang Mai, there are many opportunities and locations to enjoy, from the scenic city parks to the wild reserves. No matter what your preference you can find parks in Chiang Mai that suit, you can even book accommodation at Sri Lanna, take a picnic lunch at Buak Hat and relax in the sun as you plan your next day at one of the reserves. Chiang Mai balances its urban and natural sides brilliantly; tourists and residents alike really are spoilt for choice.

Barcelona Parks And Garden Squares
Barcelona in Spain is home to a significant number of parks and squares, each distinct and with individual charms and special features that never fail to attract the attention of local residents and tourists alike. In this historic city alone, there are 68 municipal parks with 45 of them categorized as urban parks, 12 as historic parks, 6 being forest parks, and 5 being botanical or thematic parks. Each type varies by size and with urban parks alone making up 10 percent of the whole city area.

The Montjuic or Parc de Montjuic at 203 ha is considered the largest among all the parks in the city. It is located at the west side and follows the nearby sea. It was here where the 1929 Universal Exhibition was conducted as well as the 1994 Barcelona Summer Olympics. Many attractions can be found in this park which includes the Museo d’ Art de Cataluya, the Poble Espanyol, Fundac, the Fundacao Miro, the Museo del Libro y de las Artes Graficas, Museo Artes e Industrias Populars, the Museo Arquelogia, and Museo d’ Etnologia.

Parc de la Ciutadella, located within the old military citadel, is where one of Europe’s best zoos can be found. This is where the Parliament building, a zoo museum, a Modern Art museum, two botanical buildings, and another one solely dedicated to paleontological and geological artifacts are found. Guinardo Park is the third largest park in the city, followed closely by Parc Guell located at the northern part and which was first developed in mid-1800s. The popular Sala Hipostila or Hall of a Hundred Columns is a favorite attraction here.

Parc de Cervantes is located in the western section of the Avinguda Diagonal where the University can also be found. It was built in 1964 to commemorate General Franco’s twenty-five years of rule and has an enchanting endless view of 11,000 rose bushes of around 250 varieties. Parc d’ Atraccions del Tibidabo is a beautiful park known to be the center of amusement in the city. Parc del Espanya Industrial features an impressive boating lake aligned with ten attractive sculptures by Luis Pena Ganchegui just northwest of Parc de Joan Miro.

Parc de Joan Miro is charming and smaller and can be found at the north side of Barri Gotic and carries the famous sculpture by Miro. Visitors will be impressed by Parc del Laberint as well as with its popular labyrinth surrounded by neo-classical mythological statues cloaked by beautiful fountains. This former residence of Marques de Alfarras has clear Italian architectural influence and is equally impressive with its canals, arbores, a lake, and cypresses.

Among the well-maintained beautiful gardens of Spain, three from the city of Barcelona are known for a variety of attractions and features. Jardins Mossen Cinto Verdageur has the significant statue that honors the “Sardana” Catalan tradition. Nearby is the Parc d’ Atraccion, which is famous for its main attraction called Crazy Rat. This park has all the fun rides like the roller coasters and ferries wheel and wholesome entertainment for families, couples, friends, and young children.

Jardim de Pedralbes is located at the Avinguda Diagonal, opposite the old Royal Palace de Pedrables and is notably panoramic and also features a beautiful Gaudi fountain. At the southern tip of Parc Montjuic is Jardins de Mossen Costi I Llobera, where visitors can expect to see one of the world’s best parks devoted to succulent plants.

To get to these beautiful parks and charming gardens of Barcelona, visitors and tourists can rent convenient vacation apartments within the surrounding areas of these parks or gardens. There are many of these apartments which can be rented for a few days or weeks of stay, so that making the rounds to these amazing Barcelona sites will be more convenient and worth it every visit.

The Chobe National Park
The Chobe National Park covers an area of over 10,000 square kilometres of some of the richest wildlife habitats and it is one of the biggest national park in Botswana after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The abundance of wildlife which includes, most famously, the huge families of Chobe elephant make this area of Botswana one of the most superb safari experiences and never to be forgotten.

The Chobe National Park has four completely different habitats that range from dry scrubland and mopane forest, to marshlands and rivers each creating a varied selection of attractive unique game locations. Because of the diversity and extreme contrasts of these habitats the Chobe National Park offers a diverse range of wildlife encounters within the boundaries of just one park. The varieties of lush vegetation and interesting geological aspects that exist in the park have created an almost tropical habitat within the Linyanti swamp that becomes the harsh near desert-like expanse of the Savuti.

The area gained its protected status of a non-hunting zone back in 1931, steadily increasing over the next two years until it covered some 31,600 square kilometres. However, over the following two decades the park suffered with an onslaught of tsetse fly and in 1957 the area was reviewed, continually reducing the size of it. Eventually, in 1967, the region was officially reborn as Chobe National Park, the inaugrual national park within the now independent Botswana and further reviews and fluctuations in size resulted in the area is covers today.

One of the most popular areas of the park to visit is the riverfront with its lush plains and dense forests. This large riverside area, along the northern border of the park, is famous for the large herds of elephants that congregate here together with good numbers of hippo, buffalo, warthog and zebra as well as kudu and sable. A leisurely river cruise through this area gives a unique perspective from which to enjoy watching the wildlife and the marshy floodplain is where you would be most likely to catch sightings of red lechwe and puku. The optimum time to enjoy this area would be to visit between June and October.

The Madabe Depression, a huge hollow that was once an ancient lake, and the area of Savuti that lies within it also has a superb density of wildlife and excellent game viewing, particularly during the months of November to May. To the north west of Savuti there is a rich wetland area called the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.

For those that are totally in love with all things elephant, Botswana’s Chobe National Park is an absolute must because of the large elephant population resident here. Elephant families found in the Chobe National Park are flourishing and currently are in excess of 120,000. These Chobe elephant are migratory in nature with their seasonal movements covering an area of up to 200 kilometres. Annually they journey from the Chobe and Linyanti Rivers, a sustained water source, where they have been in concentrations during the dry season, south eastwards where they disperse during the rainy season.

For wildlife enthusiasts The Chobe National Park works excellently with a few days on safari in the Okavango Delta concluding with a relaxed sojourn at one of the romantic lodges close to the Victoria Falls area of Zambia, delivering a wonderfully, authentic African safari experience.

Explore Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872, is a national park located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, though it also extends into Montana and Idaho. Yellowstone was the first national park in the world, and is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most popular features in the park. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is dominant.

Here are highlights of one special visit I shared with a friend in this amazing National Park.

Old Faithful & Lower Geyser Basin

Sixty percent of the geysers in the world are located in Yellowstone National Park with Old Faithful, the worlds most famous geyser, a must see.

We spent time in the Lower Geyser Basin where colorful geysers and hydro thermal activity can be viewed while strolling along a boardwalk. Plan to spend time viewing these incredibly unique geysers on your visit!

Firehole Canyon

Drive Head north from Old Faithful and enjoy a scenic side road along the Firehole River and views of the 40-foot Firehole Falls. Wildlife may surprise you along with the beauty of this protected environment.

Hayden Valley

Hayden Valley was a favorite place of ours to view bison, listen to the call of the coyotes and watch the birds.

The valley is enchanting and peaceful, yet becomes frightfully exciting as you find yourself in the path of buffalo! To get to Hayden Valley head to the middle of the park above Bridge Bay.

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

From Hayden Valley, we headed north to view the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This Canyon is about 20 miles long of stunning views. We hiked Uncle Tom’s trail consisting of 300 stairs and a steep elevation change of 500 feet. If you are up for this hike, the spectacular view of the Lower Falls is well worth the adventure and views.

Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone lake, with it is 141 miles of shoreline, is the largest freshwater lake at an elevation above 7,000 feet. Drive and view the Lake in the southern part of the park.

Visit Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park, the 10th park created by the National Park system, turned 100 years old this past May. Native Montanans know that Glacier National Park is the crown jewel of the state, because everyone that lives in the great state of Montana knows that any park just has to be beautiful if it’s in Montana – to think otherwise simply wouldn’t make any sense!

But what makes Glacier so special? For one, it’s size. It covers nearly 1.4 million acres of wilderness in the beautiful and captivating Rocky Mountains. Within this vast acreage, hikers can find over 730 miles of trails.

It was also created for a special reason – to protect the area’s exceptional scenery. When the park was created, people were finally beginning to realize that land didn’t need to be used just to farm or to mine – that it had value just as a beautiful landscape.

If you’re not up to exploring Glacier National Park on foot, don’t worry – the Going-to-the-Sun Road, an engineering marvel and a designated National Historic landmark, allows visitors to see the park as it had never been seen before.

Before this wonderfully scenic road was completed in 1932, it would take visitors hours and hours in the saddle, on horseback, to see what today’s visitors can see in just a few hours.

Glacier National Park is also unique in that it shares a border, and shares a park, with Canada. The Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada and the Glacier National Park in the United States are collectively referred to as the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. Both parks are also biosphere reserves, and together they were named as a World Heritage Site in the mid 90s.

Glacier is lovely all-year round, but the winter is truly spectacular. Of course, you might have trouble going through some of the mountain passes on the way to the park, but if you can make a visit when snow is on the ground, you’ll see a most amazing and incredible sight – wilderness, untouched by man, with a pure blue sky overhead and herds of elk and buffalo grazing in the distance.

Visitng Glacier National Park is like taking a trip back in time. You have a chance to see nature the way God intended it, either via car, horseback or on foot. The important thing isn’t how you get around – the important thing is that you get here!

Kruger National Park is found in South Africa. It’s one of the biggest game reserves in Africa and covers 18,989 square kilometres and covers 360 kilometres from north to south and 65 kilometres from east to west. Its also part of what is now known as the Great Limpompo Transfrontier Park, usually a peace park that links with the Limpompo National Park in Mozambique and the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. Kruger National Park has nine main gates that direct one to different camps. The gates include Maria Gate, Crocodile Bridge Gate, Paul Kruger Gate and others. The area within the parks was once occupied by the nomadic hunters and gatherers for thousands of years. It became a park after Paul Kruger the president of Transvaal Republic, a region in South Africa accepted it to be gazzetted as a Government Wildlife Park in 1898 and got its current name in 1926.

The park’s climate is subtropical. During summer, temperatures rise to 380C and rainy season begin September to May. Kruger National Park has one of the best flora and fauna. It has around 1,982 species of plants like baobab, sandveld, acacia and others. The park is home to all the big five like Elephants and Buffalos and has more mammals than any other reserve in Africa. Predators like the lions and leopards are there in large numbers. The park harbors over 500 bird species where 253 are residents 117 non –breeding immigrants and about 147 that are nomads. It supports the endangered African Wild dog where less than 400 of them are thought to be remaining.
